These Derek Bailey recordings are freakin' amazing! Many thanks!!!!

If you're taking requests, any chance you could give Albert Ayler the same treatment?

Hello again,

Thanks for updating the link with Cyro -- there are plenty of interesting moments on that album and I am glad that I did not miss it! For a second there I almost detected Misha Mengelberg's parrot in the background. Fun stuff.

I do have one request, though--the Han album that you posted in the original DB post is innaccessible with Sharebee and I am dying to hear it. Would it be possible to throw up the MegaUpload direct link to it? I think Sharebee is having problems with it as it is over 100 MB, but apparently people are downloading it. Just not me. :( If anyone could help me out with this, I would be thoroughly appreciative!

Thanks again,

Jansen

I'll post it again, Jansen. And yeah, seems like sharebee's having some problems. I'll try mediafire once again.

Hi Breno,

Talk about service! Thank you so much for uploading the problem links again--if my ears were my mouth they would be watering right now in anticipation of "Han." Thanks again for this great collection posted together, and for the rest of your rather interesting site!

Hey,

Thanks a lot for all the Derek Bailey, especially the ones with braxton, thurston and susie ibarra. Check out my blog for an experimental mix of artists including Melt Banana, Volcano the Bear, Melvin Jackson and Edip Bakayram. also tons of free jazz including an Ornette Coleman live performance from the 2008 PDX Jazz Fest.

Cheers, Kevin

Derek on solo playing: "I wanted to know if the language I was using was complete, if it could supply everything that I wanted in a musical performance. The ideal way of doing this, perhaps the only way, it seemed to me, was through a period of playing solo." (From Improvisation, 1980)

Lot 74 is out on CD. Please buy a copy and support Karen Brooks efforts to revive Incus as a great label for new and archival releases. Please do not download this exciting new release, but rather purchase your own copy. Thanks!!
